The spatial installation City of the Sun is a collaboration with Innavisions and explores a new visual and architectural form language. It was made for the exhibition Blueprint: Whose urban Appropriation? is this at Tent Rotterdam in 2017. City of the Sun draws inspiration from the gateways into Heliopolis, one of the oldest and cities in ancient Egypt and now a suburb of Cairo. But is a contemporary take on the highly culturally diverse make up of life in the city and in particular Rotterdam; The inaccessible grey city where behind closed doors rich tapestries of cosmopolitan urban life. The graphics are inspired by music and the concept of afrofuturism.
